
- 1994: The presidential plan is shot down, with two presidents on board. The next day, Genocide against the Tutsi starts while Victoire is in the Netherlands studying business management and economics.
- 1998: After Victoire joins the Republican Rally for Democracy in Rwanda (RDR), a year later RDR forms an alliance with FRD to create Union des Forces Démocratiques Rwandaises (UFDR).
- 2000: Elected President of RDR during the party congress in Bonn.
- 2006: RDR, FRD, and ADR-Isangano merge to form Forces Démocratiques Unifiées (FDU-Inkingi).
- 2008: FDU-Inkingi decides to contest the 2010 Rwandan presidential elections. Victoire is the party’s presidential candidate.
- January 2010: Returns to Rwanda after 16 years in exile to register FDU-Inkingi and present her candidacy.
- 2010: Arrested shortly after arrival; accused of spreading genocide ideology and other charges. Barred from running in the election.
