FVP – Victoire Foundation for Peace
FVP is a private foundation registered in the Belgian Official Gazette under number 846909176 on June 27, 2012. Its purpose includes “promoting peace and democracy in the African Great Lakes region,” and it is within this framework that it takes an interest in the situation of Mrs. Victoire Ingabire, a political prisoner.
For Peace in the Great Lakes Region
The Great Lakes sub-region of Central Africa has been devastated by recurring wars for several decades. This stems from the lack of equal justice for all and the lack of freedom for the peoples of this region to choose their leaders.
Initiatives have been undertaken, but most of them have been led by actors who are not directly concerned and who, consequently, do not fully grasp the reality on the ground. To address this gap, nationals from this sub-region, originating from these war-affected communities, have created a foundation called the “Victoire Foundation for Peace (FVP).”
The Victoire Foundation for Peace aims to:
- Promote peace and democracy in the Central African Great Lakes sub-region
- Work towards better cooperation among nationals of the sub-region living in Belgium
- Serve as a “think tank” on current issues affecting the sub-region
- Organize forums for reflection on topics related to the socio-cultural life of this region
- Encourage access to education for people from this sub-region, particularly children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Your contribution is welcome:
By supporting the activities of this Foundation, you help bring hope to millions of human lives who are victims of serious human rights violations in the Central African Great Lakes sub-region. We thank you in advance for your donation, which you can transfer to the foundation’s account.
